My plan for today's lesson, is to find the stock footage I need as I am not at college and can't access the things I need. I will spend the whole lesson finding the following stock footage: Police Crime Scene, Police Sirens, Bomb Explosion, Smoke. These are the shots I will need to find that I will be using in my title sequence.
RESARCH
When finding stock footage, I looked through a few websites, some were free and some you had to pay for.
The issue with pexel was, because it was free there wasn't a wide range of videos to pick from and I couldn't find a single clip related to the ones I need, which was disappointing.
Same issue I ran into looking at this website, due to it being a free website there is only a limited amount of videos and photos, unfortunately once again I couldn't find a singe video that I will need in my title sequence.
On YouTube I have found loads of royalty free stock footage that I could use for my title sequence. It is probably the best place to start and see how it looks before spending money on stock footage from websites where they charge for the footage.
Stock footage I found:
Police Sirens
Another Police Siren
Huge explosion
Smoke Explosion
Lesson Plan Review
In the time I had, I think I managed to do a decent amount of work. I did a nice amount of research and found that free stock footage websites are a miss and that they don't have the clips that I need. I also managed to find at least 1 clip for each shot that I need stock footage for. In my opinion, in the time that I had today I did a good amount of work and did good progress to get closer to the putting all the clips together.
Wednesday 25th November
The plan for today's lessons is to find all the remaining stock footage that I will need and also find all the special effects that I will use, like the floating equations and dust particles flying on the screen. There isn't a lot left for me to do, so I think I will achieve all this by the end of the lesson.
Stock footage I found:
Green-screen maths equations
Green-screen maths equations
Effects:
Dust particles
Dust particles
Sound effects
I also decided to find some sound effects that I would most likely include in my title sequence, I will have these along side the music that I have already picked.
Police sirens
Bomb explosion
Lesson plan review
In this lesson, I managed to find all the footage I still had to find, as well as finding all the audio I wanted to possibly use in my title sequence. Overall, I am happy with the amount of work I have done in this lesson as I have managed to do everything I wanted to do. All that I have left is to now record my clips that I will need to use in the title sequence.
Monday 30 November
My plan for this lesson is to film some if not all of my footage that I need to use in my title sequence, I only have about 4or 5 shots to record so I am aiming to finish it all by the end of the lesson.
Footage I have recorded
These are all the clips I recorded today.
Lesson plan review
Overall, during this lesson I managed to film 2 of my shots that I needed as I did spend quite a bit of time finding a good spot to film in. I recorded at least 3 attempts just to have something to play around with and not only rely on 1 clip. I now only have 1 more shot to film and then I will be ready to put everything together in a title sequence.
Tuesday 1 December
My plan for this lesson is go get my final shot filmed and uploaded onto my Mac so that I have everything now uploaded and ready to be put into premiere pro and then edited.
Footage I recorded
Lesson plan review
Overall, I am happy with what I did this lesson, even though it was a tiny amount of work that I needed to do, I am happy that I managed to achieve it and get all finished. I managed to record 2 difference takes off the final shot that I needed for my title sequence, all that I have left now is to put it all together in an editing software.
Monday 7 December
My plan for this lesson, is to start on my title sequence edit, for this lesson I want to just add all the clips together, raw with no edit on them and see how it looks like just in case I might need to change something in my plan or refilm something.
Lesson Plan review
In this lesson, I managed to put all the clips together raw and I was able to get a good idea of what the final piece would look like. Luckily all the clips and footage I had was perfect and there was no need for me to refilm anything or find any more footage online.
Tuesday 6 December
My plan for this lesson is to start editing the footage and making it look more like a title sequence, I want to do some basic editing like cutting the clips to the right length and adding some fade in and outs. I will leave any major edits like adding effects to tomorrows final lesson.
Lesson plan review
This lesson I managed to cut all the clips to the correct length and put them in the correct order and I was also able to add fade in and outs at the start and the end to both the footage and the music. All that I have left to do now is add effects to the clips and play around with everything to make it look as good as possible.
Wednesday 8 December
My plan for today's lesson is to finish off my title sequence. I want to add all the effects I want to and also add all the texts and other small bits and bobs I want, that I think will make the title sequence look good as well as making it stand out.
Lesson plan review
In this lesson, I managed to finish of my title sequence and in my opinion it came out a lot better than I expected. Luckily, I didn't run into any issues while making the title sequence. Only small thing, was I had premiere freeze a couple of times on me but luckily I didn't lose anything.
